The Nike “Just Do It” campaign launched Nike to amazing heights. Surprisingly, at one point in time, Reebok sold more shoes than Nike. Then, when this campaign was launched, Nike sales rose to the billions; in 1988 Nike sales were at $800 million, and in 10 years, 1998, Nike sales were $9.2 BILLION. This simple campaign was something all humans could relate to. This statement answered a question that everyone asks themselves at one point, “Should I walk up these stairs,” “Should I exercise for another 30 minutes?” Just do it. This pushed people to go that one extra step further, and connected to their consumers on an emotional level.
